Case Study

Following the successful completion of the previous two phases of the Wandsworth Riverside Quarter, Dane were appointed by Galliford Try in November 2017 at a contract value of £12M. Plot 6B is the largest and final phase of this prestigious development.

Bounded on the eastern side where the river Wandle flows into the Thames, plot 6B forms a crescent with 10 stories of accommodation to the south and a 15 storey tower frontage facing north towards Chelsea Harbour.

Dane works commenced on site in May 2018 with the installation of Schuco curtain wall and the modular (off site manufactured) S.F.S back up wall panels to rainscreen areas. Schuco insert vents, hinged doors and sliding doors were fitted within the curtain wall grid.

The apartments to the north Thames facing elevation incorporate the large Schuco ASS70 sliding doors providing access to the external balcony space. The outer elevation of the balconies is screened with mechanically operated Colt glass louvres (provided under a separate contract).

There are a total of 134 bolt on steel balconies all of which were fabricated in our metalwork factory. Recognising the logistical issues imposed by the site location, all of the balcony structures were fully assembled within our workshops including decking, drainage trays and glazing channels. Installation was facilitated by the site tower cranes and once insitu the glass balustrades and soffit panels were completed.

The rainscreen areas are completed with contrasting light and dark bronze anodised panelling.
